International Undergraduate Merit Scholarship 2024

This scholarship opportunity is available to international students who receive an offer or conditional offer to study at ECU in Semester Two, 2023, November 2023 or in Semester One or Two, 2024. ECU aims to support high-achieving students globally, with eligibility criteria extending to applicants from specific countries.

Eligible candidates must be international students who have received an offer or conditional offer to pursue a course at ECU during Semester Two, 2023, November 2023 or Semester One or Two, 2024. ECU’s objective is to empower high-achieving students globally, with eligibility extending to individuals from specific countries, including but not limited to Afghanistan, Albania, Algeria, Angola, Anguilla, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Belize, Benin, Bolivia, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Central African Republic, Chad, Comoros, Congo, Democratic Republic of Congo, Costa Rica, Cuba, Djibouti, Dominica, El Salvador, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, French Guiana, Gabon, Gambia, Georgia, Ghana, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, India, Iraq, Israel, Jamaica, Kyrgyz Republic, Lebanon, Lesotho, Liberia, Libya, Macedonia, Mali, Madagascar, Moldova, Montenegro, Mozambique, Namibia, Nauru, Nicaragua, Niger, Nigeria, Pakistan, Rwanda, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Somalia, Sudan, Swaziland, Syria, Tajikistan, Togo, Tunisia, Turkmenistan, Uganda, Vanuatu, Venezuela and Yemen. Such individuals are eligible for the International Undergraduate Merit Scholarship.

Applicants have the option to package with ELICOS and should be prospective international students (excluding current students, except those receiving the Welcome to ECU online Scholarship). Successful scholarship recipients will receive financial support, resulting in a 20% reduction in their tuition fees throughout their ECU course.

Eligibility

To qualify for this scholarship, individuals must be citizens of one of the specified countries, international students (not Australian Citizens, Australian Permanent Residents or New Zealand Citizens), studying onshore at ECU Joondalup, ECU Mount Lawley or ECU South West (Bunbury) Campus.

They should not be recipients of a government scholarship or industry sponsorship and must have received an offer to study an undergraduate degree between March 6, 2023 and August 13, 2024. Additionally, applicants must meet ECU’s higher entry requirements and the course entry requirements, commencing study onshore at ECU, Western Australia in Semester Two 2023, November 2023 (Summer School) or Semester One or Two, 2024.

The scholarship is applicable to eligible undergraduate degrees excluding specific programs.

Terms

Ongoing conditions apply to the scholarship, including maintaining eligibility guidelines and meeting academic and financial standing requirements.

Recipients must maintain a full time enrollment load and the scholarship can be transferred to another eligible course. However, certain conditions may lead to the scholarship’s revocation. It can only be used for tuition fees and cannot be transferred to locations outside Western Australia or other universities.

The scholarship can be revoked if the recipient does not accept their Letter of Offer or enroll in their course by specified dates and commencement cannot be deferred.

Visa Free Scholarship For Disabled Students To Study Abroad

The recipient is required to pay tuition fees within stipulated deadlines, failing which may result in the negation of the scholarship. Ineligibility for ongoing scholarship receipt may occur if the recipient receives a government scholarship, industry sponsorship or another ECU scholarship or grant during the term of the scholarship.

Compliance with all applicable requirements under ECU’s statutes, rules, by-laws, policies, procedures or other similar instruments and applicable visa requirements is mandatory. The recipient must notify ECU of any change in circumstances affecting their ongoing eligibility.

All scholarships are awarded at ECU’s discretion and ECU reserves the right to decline to award scholarships if suitable applicants are not found. The number of scholarships to be awarded is also at ECU’s sole discretion and ECU may withdraw this scholarship from offering at any time.

How to Apply

Applicants are automatically considered for the scholarship upon approval of their ECU course application. No separate scholarship application is required. The Admissions Office will issue a separate letter confirming the scholarship along with the Letter of Offer for the course.

Acceptance Process

To accept the scholarship applicants must meet conditions listed in the Letter of Offer including fulfill direct entry course requirements, accept the Letter of Offer following provided instructions and make the required indicative deposit and Overseas Student Health Cover payments.
